Welcome to my presentation on my given artist, Edward Burra.

Edward Burra was born in 1905, and was raised in a wealthy household in London. Bound to seclusion by his chronic illness, his childhood loneliness and lifelong disability paints a veneer of separation between himself and the subjects of his paintings. 'The Tea shop' deliberately juxtaposes his prim and proper hometown with the excitement and sexuality he expected from the wider world.​
